Sawtell boasts 2km of untouched beaches. With two headlands, there’s always a protected surf spot. The main beach is patrolled in Summer and has a large wooden viewing platform and café. Sawtell Island & Bay offer snorkelling and calm shallow waters – ideal for families.

Bonville Headland

The headland has spectacular views and is a great place for a sunset picnic. It’s also a premium whale-watching spot. There’s a lovely headland walk, ocean pool, beach and shallow rock pools for the little ones. It’s a must-visit and located just across the creek from the park.

Bongil Bongil National Park

Sawtell is bounded by Bongil Bongil National Park. Enjoy rainforest walks, mountain biking, fishing, picnics and animal spotting. A large koala population lives there and are often seen sleeping in the treetops.

A spectacular day reserve just a 4 min drive away. Locals love it for swimming, kayaking, fishing, stand-up paddle-boarding and picnics. The beautiful creek is perfect for small children, and also offers playground facilities. Stay for the day and use the BBQ shelters or the café.
